There used to be some lovely doctors but they seem to have all left. There is now only one remaining female doctor which means it's very difficult to get an appointment with her. I've recently seen a fairly new doctor here. Unfortunately I can't remember his name. I don't visit the doctors often and if I do it's because I genuinely feel I need something checked out. I came in about fertility issues and gave some symptoms of my menstrual cycle that I do not think are normal and are getting me down. The doctor told me the two things are not linked and which did I want to talk to him about as they are completely unrelated. Now I know I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure a menstrual cycle is everything to do with fertility and I felt I wasn't being taken seriously. He told me getting pregnant would solve it. He also said going for walks would help ( even though I do.this as a hobby and it makes no difference) my menstrual symptoms. He also asked how long we had been married and i was confused what that had to do with anything. He also spent the whole appointment sighing and looking at his watch which made me feel so unvalued. He did tell me to book for a blood test to check I'm ovulating but I'm not convinced that if it shows I am that anything further will be done to get some answers as to what is going on. I left the surgery feeling quite upset and am considering leaving the surgery. I certainly never want to see this doctor again.
I have had a number of continuous health problems over the past few months and each time the surgery and receptionists have been extremely helpful. Nurse Wendy in particular has helped a great deal, she has been very thorough, explained everything in great detail and certainly helped me through these hurdles. I cannot thank her enough.
Last week the Locum GP sent an e-mail requesting an X-ray explaining that an appt. would be sent to the patient. It would be useful if the Locum had been told that the patient needed to attend the X-ray Dept. within 2 weeks of seeing him. This information has obviously not been relayed to the Locum - a lack of joined up thinking!
In relation to the same investigation I phoned for blood test results and was told that they had been reported as 'negative, no action required' . At no time was I asked if my condition had improved or worsened, in fact I required further treatment and investigations.
This has got to be the best doctors practice. When you walk in a friendly reception no matter how bad your feeling they are so willing to help. The lady that does the prescriptions is so helpful too. My visit with the doctor made me feel so much better I felt she really cared how I was feeling and gave great advice .
Excellent care and all round service. Reception always cheerful and helpful, no problems getting an appointment. Self-check in on arrival is a great idea. Doctors all helpful and pleasant. Particularly good support from the Nurses.
Reception area could be a little more comfortable with perhaps a little more entertainment for kids (a DVD playing on a small tv in a corner of the waiting room, or a couple of ipads?). It's very reassuring to know the centre is there when I need it. Thanks to all!
